PAINTING HARTLAND COVERED BRIDGE
This watercolour of the Hartland Covered Bridge came together pretty quickly — I was testing out a few new brushes alongside some old favourites, just seeing how they played together. I’ve driven through that bridge more times than I can count, and of course, I’ve definitely honked the horn a few times for fun. It’s a familiar spot, and painting it felt natural, something that’s always been there. It’s too bad the government hasn’t done more to turn it into a real attraction — it deserves more love. This piece is part experiment, part memory, and all about capturing a place that’s quietly iconic.
