QR CODE TIME HAS ARRIVED
Back in 2014, when I wrote about the importance of QR Codes for business, I often thought what would be the motivation for a potential customer to scan the QR Code with their phone camera? YouTube video example here. Today in COVID-19, I see the motivation being triggered to use the camera and QR code. People (and as do store owners) want to touch the least amount of product as possible when out shopping, they do not want to handle products as they once did, even just to turn the product over to read the ingredients. Recipe cards & coupons are gone altogether. People do not linger long in stores, in and out. Efficient as possible. People are just being careful, they are afraid of coming in contact with COVID-19.
So what if we added a QR Code on and/or around the product?
We could then relieve the customer of handling the product. A simple scan of their phone would direct the customer in seconds, via QR CODE scanned from their cell phone camera to a custom-designed product web page with all the information a customer could ask for. All this and not one character of a website address was entered, only a simple scan of their cell phone camera. For someone looking for more information or a business selling a product, I see many opportunities for both sides.
Opportunity Awaits!
Include QR codes into your marketing mix no matter what you are selling; real estate, autos, food, beverage, gas, oil, tourism.., and direct them to a great-looking web page, designed to sell. Ensure your QR code is clean & crisp, with a minimum 7/8″ square/good contrast with the background.
How this works
With your cell phone or mobile device: turn on your camera and move the camera across the QR Code until it appears on the screen. The camera will recognize the square image and notify you when it does with a link for you to touch. Try it on the QR Code contained in this article. YouTube video example here.
